History
Saunterer was originally constructed for Sir John Field Beale as a tender to his J class yacht and was built by Francis Maynard of Chiswick.
Subsequently retrieved from a mill shed in 1994 where she had lain since the 1970’s, she underwent a complete restoration.
The original Boulton & Paul steam engine was replaced in 1947 with a Brooke Marine NU-SIX 15HP petrol engine Type 15F/32-33, No 5852, built in 1933, with electric start and magneto ignition. The engine was overhauled by John Brooke, the grandson of the maker, in 1995.
